The competition holster is an essential piece of equipment for carrying an airsoft pistol. Unlike standard belt holsters, the competition model is optimized for rapid and repeated weapon draws — a quality critically important in both airsoft combat and IPSC/IDPA format competitions. The holster material is wear-resistant impact-proof plastic. Some models are made of high-strength nylon (Cordura 500D–600D): such a holster is lightweight, durable, and water-resistant. The holster size is adjustable to fit a specific pistol model and additional equipment — laser sights and other accessories; it attaches to any MOLLE system or belt. The holster cant is adjustable within a 360° range. The pistol is securely retained inside via adjustable tension or a retention device that locks the weapon by the trigger guard. Plastic holsters are equipped with retention mechanisms that reliably hold the pistol during any activities requiring high mobility.
